BELTANE FLAME: The Senedd Sessions
BELTANE FLAME shot at the Welsh Parliament, (The Senedd), for its 25th Anniversary Year. Part of the Senedd Sessions. Awen’s Call, the Bardic Band recorded three tracks in two sessions at the Senedd’s beautiful atrium space – this early version of Beltane Flame, plus Willow in Winter and the 25th anthem, Dragon’s Fire. In times past, the best of the Bards could be found in high places – castles, royal courts and political circles – sought for their skills and insight by kings and tribal leaders. Today, Awen’s Call is continuing that tradition!

TÂN Y DDRAIG (Dragon’s Fire): The Senedd Sessions
Anthem for the 25th Anniversary of the Senedd (Welsh Parliament). 🇬🇧 DRAGON’S FIRE is a song about the ancient history, traditions and culture which form the foundation of the Welsh Parliament (the Senedd) and how they enable Wales to take its unique and relevant place in the modern world. 🏴 Mae DRAGON’S FIRE yn gân am yr hanes, y traddodiadau a’r diwylliant hynafol sy’n sylfaen i Senedd Cymru a sut mae’r rhain yn galluogi Cymru i gymryd ei lle unigryw a pherthnasol yn y byd modern. 🇬🇧 It was written to mark the Senedd’s 25th Anniversary, and was premiered during the visit of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla on 11 July 2024. 🏴 Fe’i hysgrifennwyd i nodi 25 mlwyddiant y Senedd, ac fe’i perfformiwyd am y tro cyntaf yn ystod ymweliad Eu Mawrhydi y Brenin Siarl III a’r Frenhines Camilla ar 11 Gorffennaf 2024. 🇬🇧 Composer Michael Sebastien used a customised harp guitar for the recording and video, to make the connection between ancient and modern music, a tribute to the Celtic ‘Cruit’ harp, whose players, the Crythor, were held in high regard and would sit with the nobility at feasts, alongside the bardic poets. 🏴 Ar gyfer y recordiad a'r fideo, defnyddiodd y cyfansoddwr Michael Sebastien delyn-gitâr arbennig i gyfleu’r cysylltiad rhwng cerddoriaeth hynafol a modern, a hynny’n deyrnged i’r Crwth, y byddai parch mawr at y rhai a’i canai, y Crythorion, a eisteddai gyda'r uchelwyr mewn gwleddoedd, ochr yn ochr â'r beirdd.
